A chapter ending on the shouting is tidy. The reader gets the bruise and moves on.
The quiet after the argument is usually harder to fake, and more worth keeping. That is where the damage settles in. A character can say the cruel thing and leave the room, but it is the silence afterwards that tells you what actually changed.
Sometimes I think writers reach for the raised voice because it looks like drama. The better ending is often the one where nobody knows what to say next.
