Later first draft
When a flood-damaged terrace in Liverpool is bought for renovation, the new owner finds a sealed cellar that should not exist beneath the house. Inside are old records of disappearances, a family history written in fragments, and signs that the building has been feeding on what was buried there. As the work continues, the house begins to shape the lives of everyone inside it, and it wants something back.
