A tidy alibi can be more suspicious than a messy one. Real lies usually leave a bit of grit in them. The over-polished version is what makes me look twice.
If every detail arrives neatly labelled, timed, and explained before anyone asks, I start wondering who spent so long rehearsing it. The contradiction matters, but so does the smoothness. People under pressure are rarely that elegant.
