Romance
Bad timing is often doing the heavy lifting in romance, and I don’t mean the glamorous kind with rain on windows and one last train.
The more interesting version is when two people are already far too invested, and the obstacle isn’t attraction or even compatibility. It’s that they keep treating the wrong moment as proof the feeling itself is wrong. As if love has to arrive with a neat calendar invite to count.
That’s where the tension gets properly human. Not “will they want each other?”, but “can they stop using circumstance as a moral verdict?”
