Romance
Romance often lives in the small administrative acts. Making tea, mending a sleeve, remembering how someone takes it. Half the time those gestures read as competence, which is useful but not especially romantic. Then, with the right timing, they become intimacy instead. The line is annoyingly thin.
A character noticing the wrong mug can say more than a speech. So can the decision not to comment on it. Grand declarations are easy to spot. Care is trickier, and usually more interesting.
