When a freelance proofreader in Limerick spots a pattern of tiny corrections across a string of local crime reports, she realises the edits are pointing to a real investigation that has been buried in plain sight. As she follows the trail through newsroom archives, private notebooks and marked-up page proofs, she finds that someone is using the mechanics of publishing to hide a murder. The deeper she goes, the more she has to trust the one skill that usually keeps her safe: noticing what other people overlook.
