In a near-future Glasgow where ordinary objects occasionally arrive with impossible histories attached, a book formatter named Mara keeps finding gaps in the city’s records that seem to point back to her own flat. When a dead neighbour’s belongings begin to change after they are catalogued, she is pulled into a slow, uneasy investigation of what gets preserved, what gets erased, and who benefits from tidy versions of the truth.
