The Borrowed Shelf
When a practical bookshop manager in Plymouth agrees to help sort out a chaotic inherited stockroom, she finds herself working alongside the owner’s nephew, who is trying very hard not to care about the place. The shelves, the labels and the slightly alarming spreadsheet system all become part of a slow-burn clash over how a bookshop should be run, and who gets to decide what stays. As the shop edges towards a relaunch, so does the possibility that neither of them has been as detached as they first seemed.
