The Ledger Room
In 1893 Leeds, a widowed copyist takes work in a private lending library housed above a counting house, only to find that the ledgers record more than books. When a missing account book points to a long-buried fraud, she is drawn into a quiet struggle over money, memory and who gets to keep the record straight.
