The Saltbound Crown
In a sea-walled kingdom built on old bargains, a ruined archivist is sent to recover the records of a dead queen before the court can use them to seal the city’s fate. The deeper he digs, the more he finds that the crown’s power was never ceremonial, and the price of keeping the kingdom safe may be the lives it has already decided to spend. It is a story about duty, rot, and the uncomfortable difference between preserving a kingdom and saving the people inside it.
