On a rain-darkened Atlantic island, a systems archivist begins mapping the small failures in a colony’s infrastructure and discovers they are not random at all. Each broken lock, missing tool and dead corridor light points to a hidden pattern buried in the settlement’s memory systems, one that seems to be choosing what the colony is allowed to forget. As the omissions spread, the archivist has to decide whether preserving the truth will save the community or fracture it beyond repair.
