When a long-established Glasgow bookshop announces it will close its upstairs reading room to make way for flats, the woman who has managed it for years finds herself pulled into the arguments, compromises and small betrayals that sit behind every supposedly simple decision. As she tries to save the room, she is forced to face what has been left unsaid in her own life, and what it means to keep a place alive when the people around it are already moving on.
