First draft
When a long-closed municipal library in Sheffield is cleared for redevelopment, archivist Mara Ellison finds a set of uncatalogued card files hidden behind a false wall. Each file points to a disappearance in the city over the last twenty years, and the notes suggest someone has been quietly shaping what gets remembered and what gets lost. As Mara follows the trail, she starts to suspect the library is not just holding secrets, but helping to hide them.
