The Black Salt Road
In the winter of 1746, a ruined exciseman is hired to guide a cart of confiscated salt through the western Highlands, where roads are little more than arguments with the weather. The journey becomes a slow trap as old loyalties, hungry men and the aftershocks of Culloden close in around him. What begins as a practical delivery turns into a test of what a man will carry, and what he will not.
