When old London streets start changing overnight, a weary map restorer in Dundee discovers that the city’s forgotten places are not disappearing so much as being rewritten. The only guide to what is happening is a damaged atlas that records alleys, thresholds and names no living cartographer remembers. To stop the city from being edited out of itself, she has to decide which parts of the past are worth rescuing, and which should stay buried.
