First draft
When a Victorian terrace in Coventry is earmarked for redevelopment, a freelance copyeditor discovers that one house on Rook Lane has no business standing where it does. Its rooms keep rearranging themselves, and the people who enter begin to remember a family that never officially existed. As the building swallows in more of the street, she has to decide whether the place is haunted, hungry, or simply correcting a long-buried mistake.
