The Hollow Between Lanterns
In a city built around a river of living light, seventeen-year-old Mara Vale can hear the lies hidden in lantern flames. When the light begins to fail and the city’s rulers start sealing whole districts in the dark, Mara is dragged into a search for the source of the dying glow. What she finds suggests the city has been surviving on a bargain nobody is willing to admit was made.
