In a city where every bookshop has been folded into a state-run archive, Mara Vale spends her nights repairing damaged catalogues and quietly stealing records that were meant to disappear. When she finds evidence that whole neighbourhoods have been edited out of the official history, she has to decide whether preserving the past is still possible when the system has already rewritten who gets to remember it.
