The Cartographer's Widow
In 1890s Glasgow, a widow who once copied maps for her husband’s shipping office discovers that one altered chart has sent a cargo vessel into ruin. As she follows the paper trail through docks, counting houses and tenement rooms, she is forced to decide how much truth she can afford to expose. The novel is as much about the city’s hidden machinery as it is about the cost of being useful to the wrong people.
