On a long-haul salvage route at the edge of a failing trade lane, a pragmatic pilot and part-time negotiator is pulled into a dispute over an abandoned relay station that may still be carrying messages no one was meant to hear. What starts as a salvage claim turns into a choice between keeping the lane open for everyone or letting a powerful consortium bury the truth and tighten its grip on the system.
