The Quiet Hours
Sixteen-year-old Mara Ellis takes a Saturday job shelving books in a small Nottingham library that is due to lose funding at the end of term. When she finds a set of anonymous notes hidden inside returned novels, she starts tracing the people who left them and the private mess they were trying to hold together. The closer she gets to the truth, the harder it becomes to decide whether saving the library matters more than telling the story it has been keeping for everyone else.
