When a reclusive audiobook narrator in Liverpool receives a manuscript that appears to predict events in his own life, he assumes it is a cruel prank. Then the details start lining up, one by one, with people he knows and things he has not said aloud to anyone. As he tries to trace where the book came from, he finds that the real danger may be in the version of himself the manuscript seems determined to create.
