The Cartographer of Hollow Roads
In a kingdom where old roads can vanish overnight, a quiet mapmaker is hired to chart a chain of ruined routes that seem to shift when nobody is looking. The work becomes less straightforward when he finds that the missing roads are tied to an abandoned imperial project, a vanished saint, and a city that should not still exist on any map. He keeps being told the land is changing. It is, but not in a helpful way.
