The Salt House at Blackmere
In a drowned border town where the lake keeps returning whatever is cast into it, a struggling mapmaker discovers that the missing people of Blackmere have not gone far. They are being held in the salt house beneath the water, where old bargains are still being counted and paid in memories. As the lake rises and the town’s careful routines begin to fail, she has to decide what is worth rescuing when every rescue leaves a mark.
