In a near-future Sheffield where weather records are being rewritten by a private archive, Mara Vale works restoring damaged paper maps and notices that whole neighbourhoods are vanishing from official memory. When her estranged brother disappears from every digital record at the same time, she is pulled into a slow, unsettling search through libraries, council basements and half-forgotten streets. The deeper she goes, the more it seems the city itself is being edited for reasons no one wants named.
