First draft
In 1811, a disgraced mapmaker is hired to carry a set of altered coastal charts through war-torn Spain to a British garrison under siege. The route is simple on paper, which is usually how trouble begins. As the journey turns into a chain of small betrayals, he has to decide whether the maps are meant to save lives or hide a crime.
