When a long-closed municipal library in Coventry is being cleared for conversion, a cataloguer finds a hidden index card that points to a missing local historian and a death that was never properly explained. As she follows the trail through archives, council records and a very determined set of lies, the library starts to look less like a repository of books and more like the place where someone buried the truth.
