The Cartographer of Broken Roads
In a kingdom where old roads can be persuaded to move, a tired mapmaker discovers that several villages have begun vanishing from the routes entirely. To find them, she has to travel with a disgraced courier, a man who lies badly and notices everything, through places that no longer appear on any honest map. The further they go, the more it becomes clear that the roads are not lost by accident.
