The Quiet Cartographer

In late Victorian Leeds, a withdrawn mapmaker is tasked with redrawing a district marked for clearance, only to discover that the streets on paper are the easiest part to erase. As demolition plans advance, she becomes entangled with tenants, surveyors and a local printer who knows how quickly official truths can be made to look final. The novel follows her attempt to decide whether accuracy means obedience or witness.
