The Bookbinder's Daughter
In late nineteenth-century Kilkenny, a bookbinder's daughter is drawn into the life of a cautious printer who needs her help to save a failing family press. Their partnership begins in ledgers, repairs and arguments over type, but it becomes harder to keep business and feeling neatly separate. As old loyalties and local expectations tighten around them, both must decide what they are willing to risk for a future that is not quite what either planned.
