When a late-night radio presenter in Cheltenham starts receiving anonymous calls that seem to know too much about a missing woman, she assumes it's a cruel prank. Then one of the callers names a detail from a sealed police file, and the story turns from nuisance into threat. As she digs into the disappearance, she finds the town's neat routines hiding old loyalties, small betrayals and one very patient lie.
