In a near-future Plymouth, a freelance book designer discovers that the software used to format ebooks is quietly rewriting more than typography. Every altered line seems to ripple into the lives of the people who read it, and the changes are starting to look deliberate. As the edits spread through a network of self-published novels, she has to work out who is controlling the system and whether the story she is trying to save is already part of the trap.
