After his mother dies, a practical-minded probate clerk is sent to catalogue a derelict terrace house in a half-forgotten part of Stirling. The property is full of small, stubborn details that should not matter, except they begin to repeat across rooms, days and memories. The longer he stays, the more the house seems to be arranging him into its own history.
