Early draft
Seventeen-year-old Nia Evans is meant to spend the summer helping in her grandmother’s shop in a small Welsh coastal town, but a cancelled rail line and a stack of unsent letters pull her into the private history of the people around her. As she starts reading what was never meant for her eyes, Nia has to decide whether some silences are worth keeping. The book follows a slow, awkward unravelling of family assumptions, friendship and the stories towns tell about themselves.
