The House of Quiet Copies
When a small Newcastle archive begins producing handwritten duplicates of long-buried letters, a freelance editor is drawn into a decaying riverside house where the copies seem to know more than the originals. As she tries to trace who is making them, she finds the house has been feeding on edited lives for decades, keeping its secrets by revising the people inside it. The deeper she reads, the less certain she becomes that anyone in the house, including herself, is still the first version.
