Behind the stories
Jonah writes science fiction built around people rather than machinery. He likes near futures, strange technologies and questions that do not have particularly comfortable answers.
The future gets interesting when somebody has to live in it.

In a near-future Cardiff, a municipal memory service lets people rent other people's calm, confidence, or competence for a few hours at a time. When the system starts misrouting fragments of identity between strangers, one exhausted records clerk begins tracing the damage through ordinary lives that are quietly coming apart. The deeper she goes, the more it looks less like a software failure than a society that has started outsourcing the parts of itself it no longer wants to carry.
