The Last Train from Partick

Seventeen-year-old Mairi Kerr spends her evenings shelving books in a Glasgow bookshop and trying not to think about the fact that her mum’s been quietly losing their flat to debt. When a local campaign to save the shop collides with family trouble and a friend she has started to rely on too much, Mairi is forced to decide what she is actually willing to fight for. It is a story about small places, awkward loyalties and the way ordinary lives can tilt without much warning.
