When Mara Ellison returns to Portsmouth to help close her late father’s failing seaside bookshop, she finds herself working alongside the one man she never quite managed to forget. Ben Carter, now running a community repair café next door, wants the same stretch of Southsea high street to survive, but not at the cost of the life he has built carefully without her. As old grief and old attraction resurface, they have to decide whether staying means repeating the past or finally changing it.
