On the edge of a disputed star lane, a disgraced navigation archivist discovers that the official maps of a trade empire have been quietly rewritten to hide entire systems. When she follows the missing routes, she finds a chain of abandoned stations, a dangerous truth about who controls travel, and a very patient conspiracy with too many moving parts. The job was supposed to be data recovery. Naturally, it turns into a crisis.
