The Cartographer of Ash
On a backwater archive-station built around the wreck of a dead empire, a reluctant mapmaker discovers that the star charts she has been restoring are not records at all, but instructions for reopening a sealed route through hostile territory. When rival factions start killing for the missing pieces, she is forced to leave the safety of the library and decide whether some histories should stay buried.
