In a rain-soaked corner of Limerick, Mara Quill keeps finding small debts that should not exist: a missing coin in a locked till, a name crossed out in an old ledger, a street of the city that only appears after midnight. When she starts following the paper trail, she discovers the city’s bargains with the unseen have been quietly fraying for years. The trouble is that every repair asks for a price, and Mara is already in debt to something she cannot quite name.
