Sixteen-year-old Mara Keane spends her weekends helping her grandfather clear out the family’s half-flooded guesthouse on the edge of the Clyde, pretending the place is only a nuisance and not the last thing holding her family together. When a local redevelopment plan threatens to buy the building out from under them, Mara starts digging into why her mother left years ago and why her grandfather has been so determined to keep the doors shut to everyone else.
