In a tidal kingdom where saints are said to drown for other people’s sins, a disgraced mapmaker is hired to chart the ruins that rise from the sea each winter. The work pulls him into a dispute between a reclusive abbey, a broken harbour town and an old power that has learned to wear the shape of mercy. As the coast starts to change in ways no chart can contain, he has to decide what kind of truth is worth surviving for.
