In a tidal city where old magic is bargained through maps, seventeen-year-old Mara Vale discovers that the harbour charts are being altered to erase entire districts from memory. To stop the city from quietly consuming the people who live at its edges, she has to follow a trail of broken routes, half-truths and a boy who should not exist on any map. The deeper she goes, the more she realises the city is not just hiding a secret. It is protecting one.
