Imogen Webb is a historical fiction writer interested in how stories work, how readers respond to them and how technology is changing the way writers create and publish.
A story does not need to explain everything to know what it means.

First draft
Dublin, 1893. When a junior clerk at a private charity archive finds a ledger listing names of women who officially do not exist, she starts tracing the records back through boarding houses, courts and church files. What looks like a tidy piece of Victorian bookkeeping turns into a search for who was erased, who benefited, and why someone is still altering the paper trail.
