In 1890s Galway, a practical widow who copies legal papers for a living discovers a bundle of undelivered letters hidden in the walls of an old boarding house. One of them leads her back to the stern naval architect who once broke her heart, and forces both of them to reckon with what was said, what was withheld, and what was never allowed to be named.
