In a kingdom where roads can shift overnight, a reluctant mapmaker is hired to chart a route through the Hollow Roads, a dangerous network that seems to rearrange itself around old lies. As he travels with a blunt-tongued courier and a disgraced oath-keeper, he starts to realise the maps are not just recording the land, but deciding what the land is allowed to become.
