First draft
In a near-future Ireland where public libraries have become data refuges as well as book lenders, a cataloguer named Orla Byrne discovers that certain borrowed books are returning with pages subtly altered. The changes point to a private system using library records to predict, and quietly reshape, the choices of entire communities. Orla has to decide whether preserving the archive means protecting the truth or keeping the peace.
