Behind the stories
Hannah Foster writes across science fiction and dystopian, with a particular interest in character, atmosphere, revision and the details that turn a manuscript into a finished book.
A story only works when somebody has something to lose.

First draft
In a city where every book, note and private message is filtered through a state archive that quietly edits anything deemed destabilising, a cataloguer begins to notice that whole conversations are disappearing from the record. As she follows the gaps, she finds that the missing texts are tied to a buried project designed to make dissent feel like forgetfulness. The deeper she goes, the more she has to decide whether preserving the truth matters if no one can remember it intact.
