In Cambridge, a junior typography conservator discovers that certain misprinted books are not errors at all, but seals holding back old magic threaded through the city’s libraries, bookshops, and archives. When those seals begin to fail, she has to work out who is quietly unbinding them before the whole paper-thin boundary between the ordinary and the impossible gives way.
